Happy Sunday. Hello everyone.
My previous post on purpose seemed to hit a chord with you. But as part of that purpose, you have to pick something to work towards, right?
Today’s post is a continuation of that.
I’ll kick it off with two bits of text that resonated with me recently:
and
To address the first - there was some confusion in the previous post about whether or not I derive happiness from fitness and exercise. I don’t aim to seek happiness in any endeavor. It tends to be a brief bi-product, but is not the sole goal. Seeking happiness in anything tends to put it on a pedestal, makes it an idol, and will soon fade when faced with constantly having to raise the bar.
The easy comparison is partying. First you only need a few drinks and friends, but now in my later 20’s it is evident how many people turned into drinking heavily, repeatedly, and don’t seem to derive much happiness from it at all.
The same applies to fitness. I derive purpose from being fit - being able to do the things that being fit allows me to do. Of course your endorphins rush when you work out. We feel GOOD. But that is fleeting, whereas the enjoyment of being an absolute UNIT is … forever.
The second, what if it all works out better than you could have imagined. I relate this most to the ability to just start training. Not thinking. Full sending every session you train. It’s not a question of if. It WILL work out if you put in the time on a long enough time horizon. And that brings us to the focus of today’s focus.
WINNING.
The goal of course is to WIN.
And maybe we should define that with a brief video:
Sound on.
This guy gets it. And that’s actually me. Secretly I’m a 5’6” skinny dude who loves basketball.
Anyway.
Winning is different for everyone. But we all know the feeling we get when we do win.
And it comes from purpose. And training is just the means to get there.
Today, that is embodied by the culmination of my last 3 years of work with Acid Gambit. A lot of time spent, a lot of training done, hundreds coached, thousands trained, and the refusal to stop.
That culmination comes in the form of the AG Studio App.
Something I am extremely proud of. This is a tool I built from the ground up. Every line of code written by me, Matt. Every program written by our resident stud, ultramarathoner, CrossFit coach Lee, and myself.
It’s one thing to build something cool (we did) and show it off. It’s another to build something with a real purpose that allows you to improve on what matters - purpose and WINNING.
And that’s why today I am extremely pumped to announce the release of the Studio App.
Thousands of workouts, daily WODs, daily training tracks to follow, and the support of Lee and myself.
Is it perfect? No. But that’s what makes me even more excited. I continue to great feedback and implement improvements that bring us back to the original goal: helping you WIN.
The AG Studio App and subscriptions are now live! If you have not logged in yet, head here first❗
Right now I am focusing on on-boarding you to the daily training or starting a program. I am going to continue to drop new programs, and have program requests available as well. We’ve reached 500 of you on there, and would love to cross 1k soon.
Happy Monday. Go train. Go subscribe.
