It's funny because even if you take it from a non-believer lens: the bible is a written work (largely by) people thousands of years ago. Is there nothing we can learn about ourselves from written word about life experiences? Not much has changed about our behaviors now compared to the times in the bible. People still lie, cheat, steal. People still have the same fears and same motives.
I’ve been having lots of my clients this week describing lack of purpose. I typed in Purpose and your article popped up first. I have been describing that Purpose has a quality of energy about it that is frustrating because you can’t find it, diminishing satisfaction. Power and realigning your Values with the power you develop gives us Purpose. Then happiness and joy appears.
Dude that's hilarious you just searched and I came up! I've never struggled tying purpose to fitness as it was always one in the same. Without physical strength and endurance I feel I am lacking. I don't derive joy from being fit, but it allows me to do everything else in life that does give joy
Of course there are diminishing returns as you bring up. If fitness is your sole source of satisfaction, just like any other idol (money, substances, girls, etc) over time it will wear on us
Love reading christian parallels to modern problems
