I don’t like the word ‘busy’. The person using that word usually gives off a vibe of ‘I don’t actually have a record of what I’ve done or am going to do’ in order to stay busy (I’m guilty of this).
The fact is if you’re busy all the time what are you actually doing? Rather, I like to outline exactly what I’m doing and going to do because that allows me to predictively fill my time and quantitatively gauge my progress and achievements no matter how small. It allows for serendipity, for surprises (good or bad), and for actually having fun while others may refer to what I’m doing as ‘busy’. In reality, I’m working on what I care about and know exactly what needs to be done (I still have no idea what I’m doing however, but that’s another story).
The bigger crime in my opinion is claiming to be busy and delaying things like exercise, time with others, etc. without actually knowing what you’ve accomplished. It’s a filler word for lack of focus. SO, rather than tell you “I’ve been busy” I’m going to give you an update on what I’ve been working on because it’s fun.
I recently had a discussion on the differences between satisfaction, fulfillment, and contentment. Frankly I don’t actually care about the etymology of these words. I have my own definitions that work for me and hopefully it makes sense to you. They very well may be synonymous, but I see minor discrepancies that make sense to me. I am fulfilled in my daily work and feel content on a daily basis. But I am not satisfied. Make sense? I feel a never ending force to continue working. A warpath. If not me, then who? I think this is a feeling I would wish for everyone. It’s not that I am NOT happy with my current life. It is the fact I’m unsatisfied with the knowledge that I can go further. I can be faster and stronger. I can continue to grow Acid Gambit. This drives me every day.
For AG, there are currently 2 real lines of effort: community + content. I lump into community the app I recently launched as a limited feature release, 1 on 1 coaching, the discord, the IG, and all of y’all sliding in my DMs. It’s (hopefully) building a community of like-minded individuals on a path to overall long term health and crushing any physical goal before us. The medium by which that occurs doesn’t matter to me. It could be us working 1 on 1 (apply here), picking up a program, reading one of the many programming examples or guides on my substack here, or just following the workouts or asking a question on instagram. I try to put out as MUCH information as possible to make it as easy as possible for you to either 1) take your first steps towards progress or 2) take that NEXT step to reach your peak performance.
Continuing to do the thing that got you where you are now is not always what is necessary to go one more step. A beginner lifter may start with a simple 3x10 PPL split, but over time our needs change. The same applies for beginning to run. Early on, all you need is MILES. Log some time on the pavement and get comfortable on your feet for a long period of time. And similar to lifting, your needs change as you define different goals for yourself. That’s what makes us interesting beings. We can’t just do the same thing every day and expect progress (isn’t that called insanity??). Regardless, that is LOE #1. GROWTH.
The second is content. Up until yesterday I did not show my face as part of the AG brand. It isn’t about me, it’s about the training and the community (you). But in order to scale, it may be easier to show my face and build reels for the algorithm. So I doxxed myself (yes I’m hot I get it). But it’s a means for an attack on a media front. It is very similar to what I said earlier. Doing the same thing that got me here will not necessarily take me to the next step. Something must change. As a result I started a podcast. I will be posting reels. And much more.

My last note is on urgency. We simply don’t have time. Minutes and hours turn into days, weeks, and years. If you are waiting to make a change but you’re too busy, I suggest reevaluated what busy actually means to you. In a previous post I explained how I feel about time, check it here.
Cheers ✌️
